Good 'ay Mate!
the friends from down under have returned! hauyiang, qin and rachel are back.. with tree returning next week..
i wish lydea could come back too. i miss her so.. and have so much to share with her.. i actually talk to her parents more than i talk to her now?!! but we're still close as ever..
i know i haven't been blogging for awhile.. i've got lots of things on my mind now, and lots of issues to deal with.. lots of people to pray for, and lots of thinking and reflecting to do before God.
i know He'll help me through this. =)

The Curse of the Singaporean Girl

"shopping always never fail to cheer me up. it works! i think everyone shd try it whenever they r down or depressed. and u will realise there is so much more to life. haha."

i know many more girlfriends like that. its just that this girl's the epitome of her kind. and you know something? they're not happy people. their level of contentment is just about as non-existant as the amount of savings in their account. this is fact and not opinion, and i know that because i once was one of them.
they can continue to buy all they want. i cannot judge them, but it does not mean i have to remain silent when i see a problem. all i hope is that when they see the life i lead now, they will see someone who has found true happiness in Christ and in the worthwhile things of this world.
contrary to what the world preaches, being a shopaholic is not something to be proud of. it is an unhealthy addiction that burdens your finances, mischannels your wealth away from real needs and slowly transforms you into a self-gratifying, vain, selfish person.
like madame blueberry in VeggieTales, who finally realized that "a thankful heart is a happy heart", the secret lies in being content for all that the Lord has provided. most people know this in their heads, but have yet to be convicted of it.
God doesn't want to hear, "I'm thankful. but i want.....". Who are we to tell Him that He has failed to provide all that we needed and much more? that petty wishlist of inconsequential items is really just a complaint letter of what you're deprived of. what an insult to our Jehovah Jireh, who instead has chosen to provide our daily needs for our survival - things we often take for granted just because they have been faithfully given to us.
compared to the wishlist above, i'd rather have a "thanksgiving list" of my uncountable blessings, sit back, and pray that tomorrow God will still mercifully provide for this fallen world where many are more concerned about shopping than their daily needs.
so shop wisely! reviewing that wishlist of yours is a good place to start.
