CM 2007 (Final Part)
4th July 2007
Today was also America's Independence Day, and one American brother decided to celebrate in a very special way..

We also toured around at the Global Connexion Fair, where countries represented at CM each had a booth that promoted their local ministries and culture. Outside BEXCO there were also tents where you can try out different kinds of korean-ish things. Here's my name in korean:

CM 2007 (Part III)
2nd July 2007
Sight seeing day!!! We woke up at 10am (prayed till 5am from the previous night), and decided to visit Seomyang, the shopping district.
Took the subway and roamed around the place. The prices of stuff there are the same with the prices here.
Lunch was at a korean restaurant serving traditional korean food. FOOD!!!!!!!!!

A lot hor? We almost had no space to eat..
The koreans eat very healthy stuff. Their food contains little oil, lots of vegetables, little fried things.. You don't really see obese koreans on the streets. I love their food!

This strawberry yogurt drink is also very yummy. I love the bottle.

LOTTE Mall. The things inside look like the ones you see at maybe Seiyu (oh sorry... BHG..... -_-), but thrice the price.

Took pictures of the many flag poles at the open area in front of Bexco:

One of the APEC Summits was held in Bexco, but i believe the flags also reflect the many countries represented by the participants of CM.

The 3 CMs of the conference:
1. Completing the Mission
2. Connected Movements
3. Christ Magnified!

CM 2007 (Part II)
1st July 2007
This was the second pre-conference day, also the last day before 12,000 korean students joined us international delegates for CM.
We had kimbap for breakfast:

After that it was off for the seminars of our choices. It was "Evangelising to a Predominantly Postmodern Culture" for me.

It was free and easy at night, so Grace, Joan and i took the subway down to Haeundae, where we enjoyed the sea breeze, felt the foamy waves crash against our feet. There we worshipped and prayed to God.

Let me share something about my wonderful roommates. there are 7 of us, and our room looks like this:

CLEARLY there were overcrowding issues, and i wanted to move to Grace's room because they only had 5 girls there. when i came back from this wonderful hypermart called HomePlus, i found my roommates sitting on the floor talking and sharing stuff. i decided to sit in and chat with them and change rooms after that. we each shared about how we came to know the Lord, and wanted to end off in prayer.
But oh my, the prayer lasted from 3am to 5am. God was really speaking to each and everyone of us, and was doing a cleansing work in us. i remember crying, singing, wailing, sobbing, laughing and begging to God.. if others had seen us they would've thought we were crazy. the prayer session left all of us exhausted, but i know it was a night to be remembered. after that night i decided not to change rooms anymore. =)

CM 2007 (Part I)
29th June 2007
Departed for Incheon Airport (Seoul) on flight KE 642 from Changi Airport. Mum was fascinated with the real sunflowers and orchids and wondered how much it costs to maintain them in a place with little sunlight.
30th June 2007
Got woken up at 4 a.m. for breakfast on the plane. This is ridiculous. I didn't know something called appetite existed at 4 in the morning, but i wolfed down my omelette, hashbrowns, sausage, Nestle strawberry yogurt, fruits and a cup of coffee. Some others opted for the bibimbab. But as i would soon find out, i would be eating quite alot of those in Busan.
The sun rose on this horizon early, shedding its light across the vast expanse of clouds. *peekture moment*

Rain was dancing and wriggling on the in-flight tv screen. Korean Air sure knows how to please its customers. I also kapoh-ed a little travelling pouch that contains socks, toothbrush, toothpaste and an eye mask.

Arrived at Incheon at around 6am korean time.

upon arrival at Bexco Centum Hotel, we were greeted with a lovingly prepared meal. their bento there got very nice packaging one. not like the styrofoam boxes here haha.

Bexco hall - our home for the coming week.

A fascinating currency exchange van that swallows greenbacks and spoots korean won.
i picked up a pinecone outside the hotel lobby while chatting with long-time-no-see AHS pal felicia!

the first night of the conference was exciting as for the first time i was worshipping the same God with brothers and sisters from all across the globe. Our God transcends cultures, languages and geographical boundaries. It is the work of faithful missionaries that has led to the fulfillment of this vision - that every tribe and tongue will worship the one true God. =)

check out this amazing traditional korean dance where the men swish a ribbon around on their hats while playing korean drums. it was very exhausting to watch as they vigorously swung their heads about. i think they need aspirin after every show.
